"Our macerators do not need any specific maintenance, although in order to guarantee a lasting product we recommand to clean and descale your unit regularly. The descaler specially developped by SFA will remove the scale in you unit while rescpecting its internal components. The frequency of this operation will depend on the hardness of your water. Concerning day-to-day basic hygiene, you can use your regular toilet cleaning product for your ceramic bowl. Avoid any use of product containing caustic soda which could deteriorate the internal components of your unit."
You can find the exploded views of our products on our site by downloading its installation manual: either from the product page or from the page "downloads".
As long as our macerators and pumps are proprely installed and maintained, they should not produce any particular smell. Moreover, all our adaptable macerators are equipped with active-carbon filters, which reduce the risk of smells. In order to avoid any nuisance, we recommend to regularly clean and descale your unit. The descaler specially developped by SFA will remove the scale in your unit while respecting its internal components. The frequency of this operation will depend on the hardness of your water.
Make sure that the connected devices do not leak (flush, taps...). The non-return valve of your unit might leak (situated in the evacuation elbow of the macerator); in that case, clean it or change it
Make sure that the unit is plugged in and that power supply is on. A foreign object might be blocking your unit. Eventually you can remove the foreign object by your own means. First of all, disconnect the socket before pulling the toilet bowl form the macaerator. With a screwdriver, remove the foreign object that prevents the blades form rotating. For any other problem, please contact your after sales service."
All our products meet the European Standards (EN12050…)
the decibel calculation is very specific and can differ from one installation to the other. However, we can say that our new products from the Silence range are 10 times quieter than the old range.
"The start of the engine is operated automatically by a pressure switch composed of a rubber membrane. When the water rises into the macerator tank, it creates a pressure on this membrane which starts the motor. This is a mechanical action. Therefore, one flush will make the motor start 2 or 3 times with a 1 or 2 seconds cycle each time. If your unit runs longer than before, it might be because the membrane needs to be cleaned or descaled. You can use white vinegar or our specific descaler: unplug the unit from power supply, pour 2 litres of product into the ceramic bowl. Leave it to rest for a few hours then plug the system and flush."

Each unit can pump away the waste waters to a different distance, therefore, a different discharge diameter will be recommanded regarding the model you choose. Please refer to the product pages of our site to know which diameter is best adaptated to your product.
Minimal water pressure for the use of a SANICOMPACT is 1.7 b. If your water pressure is lower than that, we would recommend to install an adaptable macerator behind a traditional toilet bowl, such as Saniflo, Sanitop..."
The evacuation piping can be set up with classical PVC pipes or copper ones.
"The vertical part of an evacuation must be situated as close as possible from the macerator, that is to say one might start with the vertical part of your piping evacuation. However, if you should start with an horizontal evacuation, it must not exceed a lenght of 30 cm. From the highest point of the evacuation, a 1% gravity fall minimum (on the horizontal part) must be set up to join the soil stack of the house. We recommand to install a drain-off point at the lowest part of your evacuation, in order to ease maintenance works. In order to avoid syphoning effect, you should either install an air-admittance valve at the highest point or increase the horizontal pipe diameter after the highest point of the evacuation."
"Sanishower allows to pipe away water from a shower and a washbasin. For optimal use of the unit, the shower waste has to be 6 cm above the floor. Ortherwise, water levels might reach an equilibrium and not evacuate. We also recommand to install a non-return valve on discharge pipes of each device connected to the Sanishower. For more information you can download the installation manual, either from the product page or from the downloads page."
